Vintage Designer // Trelise Cooper // AliceOlivia

Vintage Designer // Trelise Cooper // AliceOlivia

Recently I had a look in Encore Designer Recycle from recommendation, and I was pleasantly surprised. I've never been one for second hand clothing (in saying that however, I do donate all my unwanted clothes to a hospice shop); maybe it's the dusty smell or the long isles of endless clothes that gives me anxiety... I'm not sure.

However vintage designer is different; it is a fantastic way to find quality, pre-loved pieces for the fraction of its original price. Encore was well organized thankfully (into size, then color), so it made it easy for myself to find pieces I liked. I discovered this Coop by Trelise Cooper dress; I love the Silk Fabric, unique print and colors (as well as its $60 price tag - I would suspect it would of been over $400 originally as it's silk). If your like me and you struggle to become exited in the prospect of searching for second hand clothes, find your local Vintage Designer store (with good reviews of course, as you do not want to be wasting unnecessary time) - you may be pleasantly surprised.

The Stripey Tee // World

Hi lovelies, I hope you are having a lovely week. Another blog post today, where I share my new love for two things; World, and the classic stripey tee every girl must own. I spent a fair few hours roaming the shops in Britomart, which I do admit is my "happy place", had a look in World and was very impressed; their clothes are beautifully designed and crafted, the quality is fantastic as is the staff, and the shop is so quirky and cool just like the clothing. World is a New Zealand leading designer fashion house, created by Denise L'Estrange-Corbet and Francis Hooper.

I found this classic and timeless stripe tee; I fell in love with the fabric and boat-neck neckline, and I love how its over sized - perfect with a pair of jeans. It's actually a men's top, however I never go by whether something is "men's" or "women's", just whether I love it or not. If you have a World near you, I highly encourage you to pop inside, however you have been warned; you most likely will not leave empty handed! This outfit is now my go to weekend look, and sometimes I like to swap these cuffed "Girlfriend Jeans" for my Topshop skinnies.

My New Zealand Fashion Week Experience

My New Zealand Fashion Week Experience

Hi all, I hope you are having a fantastic day. As some of you may know, a couple of weeks ago it was New Zealand Fashion week. After submitting my application to do volunteering work, I got a job and it was fair to say is was a very worthwhile and fantastic experience. After the volunteering work, I managed to get a ticket to a Wednesday show, and I was beyond exited! If you are unsure about doing future volunteering work, I highly recommend you do it as it is fantastic real-life work experience and looks great on your CV. Here are some photos from Wednesday night:

The runway show I was invited to was the Designer Selection show. The show was divided into a number of very different "looks" - it was a fantastic way to see all the upcoming spring trends and a variety of designers' work in one show.

It was honestly a fantastic experience watching the show, and it's incredible to think that none of this would of happened if it wasn't for this website, or the volunteering work (lesson learnt - volunteer!). I honestly felt in my happy place watching the show and experiencing the atmosphere, and hope to do it again in the near future.
