The 2 Step Brow Routine // AliceOlivia

The 2 Step Brow Routine // AliceOlivia

Before 2012-ish, brows were pushed aside and not really thought about by those who weren't makeup artists (it seemed they were the only ones who really understood the importance of them). In the past few years however, brows have been brought into the limelight, and now people are plucking them less (thank you Cara), and giving them the attention they deserve. While some girls love the very drawn on look, I like the more natural approach & just fill them in to enhance my natural shape and make them appear fuller.

I used to swear by my Elf Brow Kit, which I still totally love, however I now have a new obsession. I've been using the Anastasia Dip Brown Pomade in Chocolate instead, and have been loving it. I use very little on the Eco Tools Angled Brush, and fill them in lightly, starting where my arch is and working towards the end of the brow, then using the remaining product to lightly fill in the front. I then use my trusty Elf Brow Gel to set them in place.

For those wondering how I maintain my brows; not once have I had my brows professionally plucked - I've always done them myself as I'm anxious that they would pluck too much or alter their shape, plus its bloody expensive! I just tidy up any stray hairs (around once every 1-2 weeks), and keep my natural shape, and then I wax the mono cos that's never cute. I really recommend giving your brows a little more attention, they absolutely frame the face and can make an enormous difference.

February Favourites

February Favourites

Hi all! I hope you have had a fantastic February! February was a busy month for me, but I'm loving the change of weather that March is bringing.

Like always, I am going to share my monthly favourites with you. One or two were in January Favorites, but most are new discoveries that I'm so exited to share with you all!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Makeup Remover

This makeup remover have re-purchased many times, as it removes my makeup efficiently, and leaves no oily residue (as it doesn't have any oil in it!).

A Scent by Issey Miyake

was truly as upset as you could be towards a perfume when  spritzed the last spritz, it is truly one of my favorite perfumes. am not even going to attempt to describe any scents, but the next time you pop into your pharmacy or department store, give it a sniff as it is incredible (and the packaging is super chic as well!).
Body Shop Moringa Milk
I have used this stuff daily for the past month, as it smells absolutely incredible! It is a lot lighter than a regular moisturizer, making it a nice alternative for the warmer months. I am trying to use it up before the colder weather kicks in, as I feel it is more of a summery scent, but it lasts so long! It is a really floral scent, so if you love to smell like a flower, this is for you.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

This has become my new favorite concealer! It is creamy, pigmented, and doesn't crease or look cakey on the skin. use the light shade, and like to apply to under my eyes, and on any blemishes, redness, or hyperpigmentation that may have.

The Falsies Volume Express by Maybelline

I  know that this was in last month's favorites, but this truly is my life saving beauty product. The volume and length you can get with this mascara is incredible, yet it doesn't give you clumpy 'spider eyes', which personally, can't stand.

Elf Eyebrow Kit

This is a new discovery for me, as  wanted to try a gel/powder for my brows instead of my usual pencil, as its meant to look a lot softer. absolutely love this duo; use the gel more often than the powder ( find the powder is slightly too light and a tad to orange), and have really been enjoying more of a natural, soft brow look.

Clinique Eye Shadow Trio

This trio, in particular the light shade (called french vanilla), has been an absolute life saver for me this month.  tend to get red, slightly veiny eye lids, so this has been perfect to sweep over the lids to even out my skin tone. also really enjoy smudging the darker color on my outer lash lie for a smokey effect.

NYX Butter Gloss (in tiramisu)

I have found my new favorite lip gloss. love all three of my butter glosses, however this shade in particular is the perfect nude. It's creamy and not sticky at all, the pigmentation is fantastic yet buildable, and the color is just beautiful.

That is all of my favorites for the month! I hope you enjoyed this post, and remember to leave any future blog requests down below in the comments. If you haven't followed me on Bloglovin yet, here is the link: http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11555387/aliceolivia

Beauty Unboxing Haul (NYX, WetnWild, Elf, Bourjois)

Beauty Unboxing Haul - NYX, Wetnwild, Elf, Bourjois

Hi all! I hope you are having a fantastic day. Recently I have given in to online shopping and bought some things... oh well. I purchased off asos and the shipping arrived very quickly, which was fantastic. I also bought of a website called Beauty Joint.

I had never tried any of these brands below before, so I was super exited to try all of these products out!

From asos I purchased the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder. I was so exited to buy this, as I have struggled to find a non orange bronzing powder for a very long time. The packaging is like a cardboard book, and inside the product is shaped like 4 squares of chocolate. The consistency is very smooth and the product is reasonably matte.

From Beauty Joint, I purchased 3 of the NYX butter glosses, as I heard they were creamy, pigmented and non sticky. I was intrigued to see if it would live up to my expectation, and I can now say that they are one of my favorite lip gloss formulas I've ever tried.

The colors are absolutely beautiful, and the texture is extremely creamy and smooth. The color pay off is fantastic as well, and they are easy to layer or sheer out.

Eclair (a beautiful pastel pink, with purple undertones), tiramisu (a beige nude - my favorite color out of the three), peaches and cream (a bright, coral pink color).

Swatches left to right: eclair, tiramisu, peaches and cream

I also bought 2 Wetnwild lip sticks, mainly because they were extremely affordable and there where some dupes to some mac lipsticks. Unfortunately I was not as impressed with these as I was with the butter glosses, mainly because the packaging was very cheap and the lipstick could break in half. In saying that however, the product is quite matte, and the opacity is fantastic although they are slightly drying.

Pinkerbell, 24 carrot gold (a dupe for Macs morange)

I love wearing pinkerbell under the NYX peaches and cream gloss, and the 24 carrot gold is really beautiful when you blend it out with an orange balm (I used Clinique chubby stick in oversized orange).

The last thing I bought was the elf Eyebrow Kit in medium. I had heard many positive things about this product, and I absolutely love it. One side is a darker, brown gel, the other more of a lighter beige brown powder.

There you go! I hope you enjoyed this blog post, If you want to see more hauls let me know. Make sure to comment down below what you think I should try out next, and leave any blog post requests down below. Also if you have a blog of your own, let me know and I will check you out! Love you all!
