Hi all, I hope you are having a fantastic week so far. One of my earliest (and most popular) blog posts was a "What's in my Makeup Bag", and since then I have bought and tested a lot more products, so what's in my makeup bag is now very different.

I hope you enjoy taking a peek in my makeup bag and seeing what I've been loving recently. Don't forget to let me know what your favorite makeup products are in the comments, I love to try new things out.  I've tried to cut down on the amount of makeup I keep in my makeup bag- instead I organize most of it in drawers, but this is just my everyday essential products.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation - Soft Beige, Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - Light, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - 01 Fair (New Favorite!).

I also forgot to take a picture of the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent.

Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder, Milani Baked Blush in Luminos.

Swatches (bottom to top): Milani Baked Blusher - Luminoso, Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder.

ELF Brow Kit - Medium, Elf Clear Brow Gel.

Maybelline Color Tattoos (left to right): Bad to the Bronze, Barley Branded.

Swatches (left to right): Barley Branded, Bad to the Bronze.

Maybelline "The Falsies" Mascara, Rimmel Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil - 061 Jet Black.

Alice's Room Makeover 2: Bedroom Home Haul

Alice's Room Makeover 2: Bedroom Home Haul

Hi all! As promised, another blog post in my "Room Makeover" series - click HERE to see the other post where I share my bedroom inspiration.

I've have picked up a few bits here and there, so I decided to share with you what I have purchased for my room! It's all starting to come together now, especially the color scheme (which is blue, white, and orange if you hadn't guessed).

I picked up this cheeky sausage dog cushion from Freedom Furniture. I'm using this cushion as my "color inspiration" - white, blue, and orange. I liked how it was clean and crisp; no fluffy tassels or texture to it, which is a nice balance to the other cushions on my bed, and the textured throw.

Next, I found this beautiful dark blue throw which went perfectly with the cushion and the "beachy", not too feminine theme.
I found these 2 cushions lying about in my house - a cream cushion with white detailing, and a woven blue cushion. The three together look amazing.

I also changed my colorful duvet cover to a simple, textured white one (which we already had).

This is honestly everything I could want in a frame - rustic, beachy... just perfect. I love the wooden, over sized  frame, and I think that the brown wooden areas against the white wood makes it look really unique and aged (... in a good way).

As you can see everything is slowly, but surely coming together and the colors are all looking cohesive, but not too matchy. I've took my desk out of my room as it unnecessarily took up so much room.

Make sure to follow me on Bloglovin to stay updated on new blog posts, however, if you do not have a Bloglovin account you can follow my Instagram (which I created a week ago!) and I will update you on there. Love you all!

Hi all! Hope you are having a fantastic week. A month or two ago I did my cousin's makeup, and all of you seemed to really enjoy it. I think it's refreshing to see makeup on a variety of different faces, not just mine, so I've decided to make this an ongoing monthly series - each month I will (try to - no promises) do a friend's makeup and photograph it for you!

A few days ago I did my beautiful friend Bridget's makeup- she is absolutely stunning (and very funny too!), and I really wanted to focus on her gorgeous green eyes. She is one of my bestest friends so you may see her, and other friends of mine in the near future. The products used will be listed towards the end.

I decided to focus on her gorgeous green eyes, and after much research I learnt that purple/taupe eye shadows suit her eye colour. I used mac satin taupe (a shimmery taupe with purple undertones) all over the lid and blended in some darker, neutral (yet slightly purple) eye shadows into the outer V. I kept her skin really fresh and light, because let's be honest - who needs foundation if you've got skin like her!

Products used:

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Soft Beige
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Elf Brow Kit
Elf Brow Gel
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion
Mac Satin Taupe Eye Shadow (all over the lid - I built the color up as I wanted it really smokey)
Urban Decay Naked Palette Eye Shadows in Hustle (outer V), Darkhorse (blended onto the top very outer lash line), and Virgin (in the inner corners)
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair

I hope you enjoyed this blog post,  I loved doing her makeup and she is honestly so beautiful and lovely! Thank you Bridget for letting me do your makeup honey! Look forward to another Bedroom Makeover post - it seemed to get thousands of views so I assume that you like them, so look forward to that next! Love you all!

The Birthday Post - Presents, Food, and Outfit

The Birthday Post - Presents, Food, and Outfit

Follow me on Bloglovin: http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11555387

Hi lovelies! Some of you may already know that today is my birthday! Wooppeee! I thought would share with you some of the pics from today. It was a lovely day spent with my family, and Jack and I where spoilt rotten!

From my parents I received some beautiful red flowers (unsure what type it is), and a very funny card with some money in it. I'm most likely going to save a good portion, but might pick up a few things of my Birthday Wish List, which did a blog post about. I was going to show you what my friends and grandparents gave me, but decided not too as didn't want this blog post to be me showing you everything received - I more want it to be full of lovely pictures of food and flowers!

For lunch, we went to a restaurant called the Blue Breeze - a Pacific/Asian fusion restaurant. I will be the first to admit that I'm not particularly keen on Chinese/Asian food, however in saying that, it was surprisingly delicious!

For my outfit, I chose something casual and warm, primarily because it was only 3 degrees celcius (37 degrees Farenheit) -  did bring a coat promise! and it was only lunch so it was a bit more laid back.

Top: Dotti
Jeans: Topshop
Boots: Glassons

I baked a delicious, 2 layer chocolate cake from the Little and Friday recipe book. It doesn't look as incredible as what it did in the book, but it was very delicious!
I hope you enjoyed having a little sneak peek into what my day was like, and if it's any of your birthdays, happy birthday! I will be doing a blog post about the makeup  wore, so look forward to that! Love you all!

My Birthday Wish List

My Birthday Wish List

Follow me on Bloglovin: http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11555387

Hi lovelies! So on Friday it's a very exiting day for me... It's my brother's (yes, I am in fact a fraternal twin... shocking haha) and my birthday! Is it still lame to get super exited for your birthday even though I'm a teenager? I must not be the only one that still wakes up eagerly at 5am, dragging my family and my slightly less exited twin brother out of their beds, insisting on having a birthday cake breakfast. Some things never change...

I thought I'd share with you some of the things on my birthday wish list. Usually I get some money and a card on my birthday, because I can then save some, and spend some on the things I desperately want. This isn't essentially a birthday wish list - think of it more as a list of products I would like to try out in the future.

I'm not sure about you, but throughout the year I will be desperate to buy that silky blouse, that urban decay palate, those stunning heels... but when my birthday comes around I seem to have an immediate brain fart, and I have absolutely no idea what I want. This is why I keep an ongoing list. So when my birthday rolls around I have some idea of things I would like, or if I want to treat myself to something special, I can refer back to my list. However a lot of the time I find that items I put on my list 6 months ago, I might not even want anymore. Clever way to save money girls!

  • Real Techniques Makeup Brushes - I have been desperate to get a hold of these brushes for the longest time. I may have sneakily bought some of BeautyJoint a few days ago... shhhh ;)
  • Sleek Makeup - this was my little treat to myself. I really wanted to try some of their products, so I ended up purchasing an eye shadow palette and a blush trio off makeup.co.nz. I've already hauled them and written a small review in a separate blog post, if you would like to see that, click HERE.
  • Makeup Geek Eye Shadows - I am a total eye shadow junkie, and I love experimenting with different brands, colors, and finishes. I have heard so much about the brand created by you tuber Marlena, and they are meant to be fantastic dupes for mac eye shadows (in fact, most of the people who have actually tried the eye shadows insist that they are better than mac ones). Hopefully if I get some birthday money, I might purchase a few off the website to try.
  • Macadamia Deep Repair Masque - as a fellow dry, frizzy hair citizen, I feel I could really benefit from a hair masque.
  • Things for my room - some of you may know that I am already redecorating my bedroom, and I have begun to pick up the odd few pieces here and there.

You might be wondering, Alice, why are there no clothes and shoes on your list? That's because usually when I'm shopping I will find something in that moment, and then buy it if I really love it. There's nothing I desperately want, but usually when I'm out and I have cash to spend or a vague plan in mind of what I would like to get (maybe its a fluffy jumper or a little playsuit), I might pick something up.

Most importantly, I really want to emphasize that birthdays, Christmas, and any other celebrations, are not about what you receive - birthdays are a celebration of one's birth (hence the name BIRTHday) - which is a pretty special thing and can be forgotten in the excitement of receiving presents and cake. They are most importantly about spending time with your loved ones and celebrating these important moments in time. I will absolutely not get all of these things - I may not get any, and that's okay. But one thing I do know is that on my birthday I will have a lovely cake (most likely backed by moi), a card, and my family and friends, as well as my twin-partner-in-crime to celebrate it with. I feel like it's so easy to forget what birthdays are actually about - its a celebration of your birth, it symbolizes love and most importantly family.

Try to remember all the things that your parents have done for you over the years - they have fed you, clothed you, took you to ballet class, endured your "pre-teen tantrums", so please be thankful for what you have and try to remember that these materialistic items - yes they may be nice - but what's most important is family. A Real Techniques makeup brush you really want wont matter when you're 40, but family will matter.

Sleek Haul! + Swatches

Sleek Haul! + Swatches

Follow me on Bloglovin: http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11555387

Hi lovelies, I hope you are all having a fantastic week. So yesterday in the post, my Sleek makeup package arrived - and you have no idea how exited I was. I had heard so much about the British brand, and was desperate to try some products out myself. I (somehow) restrained myself to buy only 2 products, however when I opened them they were so gorgeous and the product was so pigmented, know will get some more in the future.

The first product got was the Sleek Blush By 3 palette in lace. This has a beautiful orange peachy shade, a shimmery coral/rose gold shade, and a bright pinky coral shade. All three colors are absolutely beautiful, and the pigmentation is amazing.

Another thing love about this makeup brand is its simplistic packaging. Both palettes were very thin yet sturdy, and had a matte black look with shiny black lettering.

Next, I got the Sleek i-Divine eye shadow palette in au natural. This palette is beautiful - it contains every nude shadow you could need. The palette has everything from a matte white, matte black, shimmery browns and taupe's, and other matte transition colors. The texture is smooth and the shadows are pigmented. I love this eye shadow palette more than my urban decay naked palette, simply because the color and finish selection is better and more diverse, and there is absolutely no fall out.

If you are a beginner to makeup, the back of the product contains suggestions on creating your eye shadow look.

Beautiful right! Some of my favorite shades are cappuccino, conker, moss, and regal.

Top row (left to right): nougat, Nubuck, cappuccino, honeycomb, toast, taupe.

Bottom row (left to right): conker, moss, bark, mineral earth, regal, noir.

 Nougat, nubuck, cappuccino, honeycomb.

Toast, taupe, conker.

Moss, bark, mineral earth.

Regal, noir.

Overall, these products definitely lived up to my expectations and are worth the hype. I will do some future makeup looks featuring these palettes, and hopefully in the future I will get some more. Love you all!

Alice's Room Makeover 1: Bedroom Inspiration

Alice's Room Makeover 1: Bedroom Inspiration

Follow me on Bloglovin: http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11555387

I've always been one to change my furniture around and redecorate, but recently I've been feeling like my room is a jumble of colors and ideas. As I'm getting older and my taste is maturing, I've decided to give my room a makeover.

I'm opting for a primarily white bedroom with 2 accent colors - blue and orange. I wanted to steer clear of pink and pastel colors as I feel they are a bit to girly and young for my room. I am keeping my bed and paint color, but I've decided to get rid of my desk (it takes up way to much room), find a new vintage/retro looking bedside, and a new chest of draws. I've collected some inspiration to guide me, so I thought I would share with you what I've found. Of course I do have a budget, so I will need to be smart as to what I spend my money on, and what I can save.

Summarizing my plan:

  • The color I have chosen is white, with blue and orange as accent colors
  • Clean, crisp lines
  • A beachy yet retro feel
  • Simplistic and not cluttered
  • More retro, mature furniture (like a metal bedside and a wooden, sleek dresser)
  • New bedding - a white duvet with color in cushions and a throw
  • Accessorize with some color and silver metal (eg a metal bucket to keep makeup brushes)

This is the main inspiration for my bedroom, because of it's beachy, retro vibe. I like how most of the room is primarily white, with 2 accent colors. I also like how the room isn't too girly, and that there are clean, crisp lines with vintage elements (like the bedside table and lights).
The color combination I'm making my room is primarily white, with some blue and orange.

I loved the blue mason jars with the orange gerberas- its the sort of color combination I'm going for.

I liked this picture primarily for the simplicity of the room.

I will keep you updated with different purchases and changes to my room, and hope fully it will turn out how I planned! Let me know any advice or inspiration in the comments, I'd love to hear it! Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin to stay updated on new blog posts. Love you all!
